Winter Group Programs
We are continuing to accept registrations for Preschool, Learn to Skate, Pre-Power and the Power programs. However, space is becoming limited as some sessions are full. Please register soon to reserve your spot!

Volunteering
This year in lieu of our typical fundraising campaigns we have asked all families to volunteer 3 hours at one of our club events and fundraisers. Please sign up in the office for whatever you prefer:
Bingos: January - Wednesdays at 9pm
February - Wednesdays at noon
WOS Starskate Championship Competition: Feb 24, 25, 26, 2012 at Albert McCormick Arena, Waterloo. We need volunteers to work shifts during the weekend, and all training is provided. You will get to watch some great skating and earn $$$ for the Cambridge Skating Club. The more people we send the more money we make!
Ice Show : April 15th, 2012. We need volunteers to help with the preparation, day of dress rehearsal & show. This yearly event is highly anticipated by all of the skaters! All levels of skaters and programs participate to show off their new skating skills. We are also excited to announce that we have purchased a variety of new costumes for our skaters!

Skating Dress Designer
Sue Bottrill, of Sew Bee Design, will be displaying her designs in the lobby during our sessions on Saturday, December 10th and Wednesday, December 14th. Sue is well known in the Cambridge dance community and has created amazing costumes for dancers for many years.
Sue has ready made skating dresses and will also custom design. Her talents are not exclusive to skating as she makes wedding dresses, costumes and gives sewing classes.
This is a great opportunity to get a dress for the Winter Fun Fest or a Christmas present for the skater in your family!

Winter Fun Fest
Our club Winter Fun Fest(formerly Club Competition) will be taking place on Saturday, December 17th from 11:30am - 3:00pm for all Starskaters that have registered. All skaters will be on teams that will accumulate points from their individual events. Awards and refreshments will follow the on-ice events up in the 'glassed in' room on the upper level.
Volunteers
Just a reminder than in lieu of doing various fundraising campaigns that all of our skating families are being asked to volunteer for a minimum of 3 hours at various club functions. If you have not signed up yet for your hours, please sign up in the office asap. Thanks in advance!

Fall Registration
Registration brochures are being prepared and will be mailed to our club members in July for the upcoming season. If you were not a Cambridge Skating Club member last season and wish to be mailed information, please email the club office with your mailing address to cambridgeskatingclub@gmail.com
Fall registration for our group programs: Canskate (Preschool, and Learn to Skate) and Powerskate will take place at Galt Arena Gardens on Thursday September 22, 2011 at 7-8:30pm.

Final Annual General Meeting and Awards Date Change!
It
has been brought to our attention that the date chosen (June 3rd) for our Annual
General Meeting conflicts with a Test Day for some of our
StarSkaters. Although it is impossible to pick a date that is good for
everyone, we particularly do not want to conflict with another skating event,
causing our members to choose which to attend. Therefore it has been
re-scheduled. It will be held the evening of Friday, June 10th at 7
o'clock in the front lobby of Galt Arena Gardens.
It is our hope that
you will be able to join us for this event where we will be acknowledging the
accomplishments of our skaters, as well as electing and/or appointing our club
directors and/or committees. Light refreshments will be served. Hope to see
you there!

Annual General Meeting Date Change!
Due to unforseen circumstances the date has been changed for the Annual General Meeting. It will now take place on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 7pm in Galt Arena Gardens lobby.
Reminder....nomination forms must be received by C.S.C. office by Thursday, May 26th at the very latest. Nomination forms cannot be accepted from the floor at the A.G.M. (as per the Cambridge Skating Club constitution)

Ice Show Registration
The final day to register to participate in the ice show (taking place on April 10, 2011) will be March 12, 2011. Absolutely no exceptions!
Ice Show Picture Days
We will be holding Picture Days to take photos of the various routines for the Ice Show Program this year. Parents will have the option to purchase photos. Watch for show update letters with more details to be handed out at the rink soon!

Registration for all skaters will take place in the lobby on February 18th,19th & 23rd. Register your skater by February 23rd to get one free show ticket per skater! All skaters may also register in the club office.
Registration forms were handed out on the ice last week. If you were away or did not receive one, please ask for one in the office or from a club coach.
Starskate/Fast Track rehearsals begin February 19th.
Canskate/Preschool rehearsals March 9th, 12th & 18th during regular lesson time.

Group Lesson Registration Information
Registration
for Canskate (Parent and Tot, Preschool, Special Olympics Ontario,
Pre-Power & Learn to Skate) and Power Skating, will place at Galt
Arena Gardens. We are continuing to accept registrations after the
designated registration days, space permitting . Please register before
placing your skater on the ice. If you have any questions email us or
leave a phone message. We will respond as soon as possible!
Discounts: Every skater will recieve a $25 discount
when registering for both Fall & Winter groups at the same time in
September. Renew your membership for the Winter session by December 20th and save $15.
These discounts are not transferable to another skater, including
members of your family. Any registrations in the New Year will be
treated as a new membership and will include the purchase of another
book of Skaters Promotional Tickets.
Payments can be made by cash or cheque. Sorry, but we cannot process debit or credit card.
