FundraisingThe Cambridge Skating Club endeavours to keep costs at
a reasonable level. Fundraising and
corporate donations are the only way we are able to do this, and by using
volunteers whenever available. All skating
members participate in the Skaters Promotional Tickets. The bulk of
our fundraising proceeds are derived from 2 sources; namely our participation at
bingo events and local skating competitions.
Volunteer Hours - New!
In lieu of other
fundraising events (
such as selling Frozen Chicken, Cookie Dough & Muffin
Mix, Christmas Cactus and Poinsettias as in previous years) we will be requiring
each family to provide a
volunteer for a 3 hour block of time at one of
the local competition events, or during one of the events that the Cambridge Skating Club hosts
each year, such as Club Competition or Ice Show. A complete list of dates will
be provided at time of registration.
Please note: for high school students, time spent volunteering count towards your volunteer hours!
Local Skating CompetitionsIf you are asked to volunteer at a locally hosted competition, it would be greatly appreciated if you could spare a few hours. You will also get the opportunity to see some great skating! Please remember that these events are
significant sources of funds for our club.
BingoThe Cambridge Skating Club volunteers at the Cambridge Bingo Center. We must have 3 volunteers for each time slot. Bingo funds are used to cover the ice rental costs. If you are able to volunteer, please call the club office and leave a message. The schedule is as follows:

Skater's Lottery
This is a required fundraiser for all families. Purchase your book of 20 tickets for $40, you sell them to recoup your money or fill in your own name for a chance to win some fabulous prizes. By selling the tickets you benefit the club in 2 ways: 1 - a portion goes directly to your club and 2 - a portion goes to Skate Canada for skater development programs. Additional books can be purchased from the office. One book per group program families, 1 book per skater in all figure skating programs.
